Our Fabulous Faculty...

Jenny Hoffman - Music

Picture
This is my second year teaching K-8 general music at St. Alphonsus. I'm extremely excited to see the students again and also meet new faces! I have a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago and (when time permits), I am continuing my education at UW-Parkside.

From 1999-2010, I was the vocal music teacher at Catholic Central High School in Burlington and spent 20 years directing their musicals. I also have a private vocal studio in my home which welcomes students of all ages. In this studio, I teach classical, pop and broadway vocal music and stage deportment. In addition, I will also have a private vocal studio at Waterford High School once a week during the school year--a very exciting adventure!

In my spare time, I teach several water aerobics classes at the Aurora Wellness Center. My husband Jim and I, have three sons and have lived in Burlington for 22 years.

Barbara Lebak - Spanish

I am returning this fall to St. Alphonsus as the Spanish Language teacher. I have worked in Spanish classes for two years and looks forward to returning. I also teach Spanish at St. Joseph School in Big Bend.

I enjoy bible study and reading.  For exercise, I like to walk, but will readily admit to not doing enough of it.  I like to can fruits in the fall.  My other jobs include working as a reference librarian at the Burlington Public Library, DRE at St. Charles in Burlington, and a “virtual assistant” for an engineer who does seminars around the country.  This all keeps me “nice and busy.”  I enjoy computers and recently completed my first online class through the University of Phoenix.

My biggest accomplishment is motherhood, which I feel “is the most important endeavor I could have ever tried and now I have three productive adults to call my own!”
